Christoph began his banking career in 1980 with Bayerische Vereinsbank Group, Munich where he was initially responsible for corporate clients in Augsburg Branch from 1983 – 1989. From 1990-92 he was posted to Japan as Senior Manager Corporate & Investment Banking, Tokyo Branch. Between 1993 and 1996, he was based in Milan as CEO & Country Head, Italy before being transferred in 1997 to the London Branch as CEO & General Manager UK, Corporate & Investment Banking. In 1999, Christoph returned to Germany and joined Delbrück & Co Privatbankiers, Berlin/Cologne as a Managing General Partner in one of Europe’s oldest private Banks. In January 2003 – in the context of ABN AMRO’s acquisition of Delbrück & Co – he was appointed to the Board of Directors of the new Delbrück & Co. AG, Frankfurt am Main. In late 2005, Christoph left ABN AMRO Group and returned to Asia. From 2006 – 2012 he was Regional Head Asia Pacific & CEO Singapore Branch of a major German Landesbank and chaired the bank’s entire business activities and network in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2014, Christoph returned again to Europe and founded in Milan the Merchant Banking Advisory Platform “VdD Consult S.r.L.”. Christoph is a graduated apprenticeship-banker who studied Business Economics in Augsburg.

Dr Clive Rankin

Clive has broad international experience as a CEO across a variety of industrial sectors and is now a business angel, adviser and non-executive director to small businesses. His experience encompasses senior roles in the packaging, plastics, engineering and chemical industries. He has been based mainly in the UK with spells in Singapore and Germany, and with responsibility for businesses based in North America, Europe and Asia. Latterly he was Divisional Chairman of Laporte Fine Chemicals until its acquisition by Degussa when he became Vice President of Degussa Fine Chemicals. In October 2008 Clive was appointed the UK’s nominated expert on Climate Change to the UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change). He is a graduate of St. Andrews University where he obtained an Honours B.Sc. in Chemistry and a PhD for research into polymer behaviour.

Samuel Ogunsalu

Samuel Ogunsalu has a BSc in Microbiology, from the University of Wales, and an MSc in Biochemical Engineering, from UCL. He has over 20 years’ experience in technology commercialisation, licensing and business development. He has executed a wide number of transactions ranging from negotiating licences and M&As, to transformational technology partnerships with companies such as Merck, GSK, Pharmacia (merged with Pfizer) and Abbott (now AbbVie) as well as helping to establish preclinical research programmes with a number of industrial partners. He has also set up joint ventures, start-ups, and spinout companies to develop novel technologies. Samuel has previously been Chief Business Officer & Director of an oncology company, and Chief Commercial Officer of an Aim listed biotech company. Prior to that he has held a number of positions across technology business units connected with Queen Mary College, London, as well as other roles in which he has advised private and listed companies in both the UK and the USA. He started his professional career as a pilot plant engineer at Imperial College, London, followed by scientific research at University College London, before moving into business & commercial development. Samuel has co-founded and invested in several start-ups.

Julian has over 25 years’ experience of business development based in Hong Kong, Singapore and now London working with networks across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the US. He has worked for media companies, Newsweek International, Harvard Business Review and Middle East Economic Digest, and then corporate recovery firm CI Group. Since 1997 he has been working with claimants, law firms, investigators and litigation funders worldwide to bring commercial disputes which otherwise would not see the light of day to court – helping to secure access to justice. He also liaises with family offices, institutions and HNWs interested to invest in this uncorrelated asset class. Julian served in the Welsh Guards.

David has extensive management, corporate finance and business development expertise, particularly with smaller UK based companies operating across a wide range of sectors, where he has provided strategy, consulting, financial and business advice. He has had extensive international experience, particularly in offshore financial centres, the USA and Southern Africa. David is a former senior partner of Deloitte & Touche who left the firm in 1993 to pursue and develop a wider portfolio of interests. He has been chairman of three of AON’s UK pension schemes; a non-executive director of Sigma Q C Ltd; a non-executive director of Hirco PLC; chairman of Globaltech Solutions Ltd; and a non-executive director of Central & Overseas Securities Limited, part of Tongaat-Hulett Ltd, a South African and UK listed company.

Sanjay Puri – Finance and Operations

Sanjay has over 20 years’ experience working in a variety of roles within the financial services industry. He qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG, working predominantly in its corporate recovery team, before moving to the Bank of Scotland and thereafter Fidelity as a financial analyst within the asset management businesses. Sanjay then moved to BNP Paribas specialising in corporate funding, equities and equity derivatives analysis. Since 2009 he has been acted as Head of Finance for a number of SME’s where he has been responsible for all aspects of finance, operations, planning and analysis. He has considerable experience in leading, developing and implementing change across finance, operations and business. Sanjay graduated in economics at Manchester University and obtained an MBA (Distinction) at Warwick Business School.
